PGOU (The Land-Use Plan)
The General Plan for Urban Zoning(P.G.O.U.) is a general instrument for planning outlined in Spanish urban planning regulationsas a basic instrument for integral planning of an area or for one or several municipalities. It is used to classify land, to determine the type of system applicable to each type of land, and to define the fundamental elements of the equipment system in the municipality in question.
The 1997 Ruling by the Supreme Court recognised every Autonomous Community as having the legal rights to Town Planning legislation, as such, different legislations were then created. In the Community of Valencia, this matter is regulated by LAW 5/2014, of 25 July, by the Valencia Regional Government, regarding, Land Use, Urban Planning and Landscaping, of the Valencia Community [2014/7303].
